Vince Vallicelli, was born in Forlì in 1951. His musical career began at 15, when his attraction for rhythm was so strong that dissuaded him from doing anything else except a deep study and research of it. He then continued to study drums by himself. As his experience in the field of music grew, his passion for music became a profession and a style of life. Since this firt step he started shaping his artistic profile, which is marked by strong personality and en extrovert and involving nature. All these characteristics involve musicians with great capacity to feel. In technical jargon he’s called “the non stopping engine”, even if his performance is full of creativity and fantasy. As acknowledged by The Italian Encyclopaedia of Rock, Enciclopedia Italiana del Rock (published by Arcana Editrice). From 1980 to 1984 he was an active part of the tours of songwriters such as Gianna Nannini, Eugenio Finardi, Pierangelo Bertoli, and the continued his work in recording studios. But where a really feels at home is on the stage, in direct contact with the audience of clubs and festivals. It is on the stage, during concerts, that the public feels the release of all his energy and emotion. He also continues the gradual improvement of is technique and the personalization of his style. In 1987, of the hand of the american Harmonica “Andy J. Forest” he undertakes the road of Blues. They gave many concerts, and they recorded two CD “Grooverockbluesfunk’n'roll” and “Shuffle City”, live at Montreux Jazz Festival 1988. His musical view widened but there was only one way: it was no longer a matter of an extraordinary and bursting technique, but the balance between techniques and the feeling of each of the drumstick or hides, or what is the Groove. He continued to play with other artists such as Angela Brown, Zora Young, Shirley King (the daughter of B.B.King), Cheryl Porter, Krystal White, Ginger Brew, Harriet Lewis, in uncountable amount of concerts ranging from soul to blues and rhythm & blues. He obtained many acknowledgements and ad the opportunity to play with some of the living myths such as Lovie Lee, Luther Allison, Carey Bell, Sugar Blue, Jeanne and Karen Carrol, Charlie Musselwhite, Billy Gregory. It as been a long way of broken drum-stick and worn-out hides, a collage of experience. His first solist work counts with many host, among these some of the most qualified musicians of italian blues. In this work he once more shows the will of not being just a drummer, but the main character of his own music.
