“Raw, dirty, primal and infectious…sizzling guitar, sturdy vocals and rude harmonica” –USA Today
Moreland & Arbuckle’s Alligator debut is as deep as delta blues and heavy as thundering rock, as the band continues to wring hard-hitting, modern roots music from traditional forms. Groove-friendly guitar spiced with sledgehammer riffs duels with raucous singing and harp playing, and both barely held in place by propulsive drumming. Even when the throttle is pulled back for a loping folk-tinged ballad or a noir-ish blues worthy of Tom Waits, the band’s intensity and raw emotion shine through.
MZ DEE, born Dejuana R. Lookwood. from Oakland (California). She musically grew up in the East Bay area of San Francisco. Her first alias was Little Dee, and as a teen-ager she already leaded a show and a chorus performing in family garages of Gospel and R&B’ s lovers.
But her first and most important musical inspiration is her mother, Rochon Hemmans, one of the best organists and arrangers in California.
Son of Dave isn’t you’re average blues musician. He’s an international cult Bluesman on a mission to save your musical soul from atrophy. It would be an easy game, sticking to cliché’s and playing a circuit of guitar-solo lovin’, middle-aged divorcees. No disrespect to the working man’s blues circuit, but this one-man harmonica & beat-box genius beats his own path, turning rhythm and blues upside down and gathering a huge international army of devoted fans from all walks of life.
Quartieri Tamburi is a Tribal Industrial performance, made up by Marzio Del Testa in cooperation with Accademia della Musica Città di Volterra. It’s an ensemble of primordial tribal and modern rhythms as in a ritual of sounds and noises coming from the asphalt jungle.

Since forming in 2006, Julz Parker and Leesa Gentz have forged their own, very unique way into the global music scene. Fearlessly independent, the genre defying Hussy Hicks have followed a trail of possibilities, random twists and turns and discovered a musical world all of their own. Their influences are drawn from family record collections of old skool blues and country, and from their travels, combining a distinctly australian roots edge with european gypsy guitar, arabic rhythms and optimistic social commentaries.

Michael McDermott’s story is the classic tale of survival, perseverance, love and redemption. The first half begins with youthful innocence, a dream-come-true recording contract, a classic debut album heralded by the media, and a downward spiral with seemingly no bottom. The second half begins with love and the woman that would become his wife, Heather Horton, their baby girl, and a collection of achingly honest songs born of new inspiration that are amongst the very best of his ten album career.
“An artist is someone who can help you seeing the world from a different perspective. This perspective can be deeply personal and universal at the same time”.
Renzo Rubino is a genuine and original artist who is able to propose an authentic and interesting music genre, bringing to life modern power ballads with a Retro texture. At 21 he met his current producer Andrea Rodini ( Vocal Coach from X Factor Italy). That’s what he said about him after discovering his music: “During the last few years I’ve listened to more than 4000 young singers. I never found a 21 years old artist who has the strength and originality of Renzo Rubino “.
Brunori Sas is Dario Brunori, form the province of Cosenza, neorealist songwriter, failed entrepreneur and neoitalian shouter. His songs are unadorned and direct, now disillusioned now romantic, ironic and creamy, all filtered through a dry and retro sounds: that retro is the imagination of the memories of the 30’s today, ie the first years 90. The point of no return.

Music for dancing and music to think in these words is contained the Malakaton band philosophy.
Rumba, flamenco, with the musical influences of bands like MANO NEGRA, Ojos de Brujo, but also low hard funk, is the musical blend of Malakaton. The result is a powerful and rhythmic sound at the same time!
To the listener of a concert of Leydis Mendes will seem to be in Havana, maybe sitting at a table in the smoke of cigars that invades the air. This is the typical atmosphere that creates witnessing a performance of the talented Cuban musician Leydis Mendez. A dip in the intense colors of Cuba in the magic of those sounds and songs that made famous singers like Compay Segundo, Antonio Mendez, Celia Cruz
Live Act of the Year at the 2015 Scots Trad Music Awards, RURA are “one of the most exciting bands on the Scottish folk scene” (Songlines).
The five-piece’s fire first ignited in 2010, as award-winners at Glasgow’s world-renowned Celtic Connections festival, where they have now appeared on a remarkable seven consecutive occasions. Since then, Steven Blake, Adam Brown, David Foley, Adam Holmes and Jack Smedley’s powerful instrumentals and haunting songcraft has been a highlight of many of the world’s leading folk festivals – including Cambridge, Tønder, Winnipeg, HebCelt and Shetland, amongst countless others.
They are undeniably one of Scotland’s most sought-after, universally appealing acts. One listen – live or recorded – and it’s easy to see why.
Folk group “DrevA” was found in 1989 as a branch of the theatre “Perekriostok” and specialised in Russian folk and urban songs and music up to this time.
Repertoire of the group is built onthe materials of the expeditions inthe different regions of Russia: Belgorod, Voronezh, Briansk regions and also in the Cossak stanitsas of Don and Kuban. The group members learn the songs using expedition records and also in the direct contact with country singers and musicians. The folk group doesn’t use the songs from the note editions, the performance of the group is based on improvisation as it is usual in traditional country singing. The members of the group aspire to authentic manner of singing without some kinds of arrangement. The important part of this manner is keeping the nature sound of each singer voice. The actors themselves take part in the expeditions, master the instruments, design and make costumes.
British pop music has plenty of retro-soul and R&B acts, but the recordings of singer/songwriter Gemma Ray reveal a more complex and restless artistic nature than most. Reaching back to pre-Beatles rock for inspiration — but tossing in a jumble of influences including the torch songs of Billie Holiday, film scores, flamenco, and more — Ray has sculpted a sound that is familiar and warm, but also appealingly off-kilter and full of noir-ish touches.
The New York-based roots rock band Joe d’Urso & Stone Caravan began rollicking in the early ’90s and their raw raucous style is keenly similar to the likes of fellow American rockers John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan. D’Urso, who was an agency contractor in the music industry prior to his personal rock & roll gig, has been critically acclaimed for being a passionate songwriter and an earnest performer with a deep love for making music. The band independently released their debut, Rock-Land, in 1993. Mirrors, Shoestrings & Credit Cards followed three years later and led the band to opening spots for Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Wilco, Joan Osborne, the Allman Brothers, and Bruce Springsteen. In 1998, Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan signed to Capitol/Right Stuff and issued their third release, Glow, in 1999. A year later, Rock and Roll Station was released.
The group has started their career as a band in 2006.
Beside of perfect music fit, musicians are also a good match in organization and friendship aspects. Complete harmony, which is between the members of the group, makes that the positive vibrations (not only the music ones) “pass” from artists to people they are performing for. Owing to music schools, “Tekla Klebetnica” represented the high level while musicians realize their repertoire. The musicians were growing up surrounded by folklor music. The experience has lead to creation of highlander and convivial atmosphere during the show.istan.
The Band proposes its own traditional repertoire from Salento. The spirit of the group, is to exorcise the problems of modern society, with an attention to the sound of pinches, strong dance, warm and sensual
The duo’s powerful blend of passion and virtuosity is infectious. What sets them apart from most folk/Celtic acts is their free-wheeling approach to live performance. Tim and Brendan love to improvise, which means that every time they do a piece it sounds different & fresh. It’s that sheer mad spontaneity which unfailingly captures audiences everywhere!
